KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State's Ethan Blackmon and Trey Phipps received men's basketball postseason honors from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) on Tuesday morning.
The awards were announced ahead of the conference tournament, which begins Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
Phipps, the MIAA's regular-season scoring champion, finished with 586 points across 28 games—101 more than the second-place finisher. The Tulsa native was named to the All-MIAA Second Team. He ranked third in the conference in three-point percentage (39.6) and free throw percentage (86.5).
Blackmon, who finished third among MIAA players with 466 points and second in rebounding, earned a Third Team selection. The sophomore also ranked second in the league in field goal percentage (55.7).
In MIAA play, Blackmon and Phipps ranked second and third in points per game. Blackmon was also third in rebounds per game (7.5) and second in field goal percentage (56.2).
