Baseball visits Missouri Western

TAHLEQUAH— Northeastern State Baseball is set for its longest road trip of the regular season, heading to Missouri Western on Friday to kick off a three-game series.

The RiverHawks (6-8, 3-3 MIAA) are looking to bounce back after a rollercoaster start to conference play, sweeping Newman before dropping three straight to Rogers State.

Key Players to Watch:

  • Colton Ayres carries a three-game hitting streak and has reached base in ten straight games.
  • Diego Murillo homered last Friday and has been on base in four of the last five contests.
  • Braxton Jones is making an impact on the mound, ranking fourth in the MIAA with 31 strikeouts through four starts.

Meanwhile, Missouri Western (1-13, 0-6 MIAA) has endured a rough start, dropping 11 straight games. The Griffons were swept at home by Central Missouri and on the road against Fort Hays State, though they've had some close calls—three of their last six losses came by just one run (3-2).
