Men's Golf ties for eighth in Hays

HAYS, Kan. – Northeastern State finished tied for eighth by the conclusion of the Fort Hays State Invitational at Smoky Hill Country Club Tuesday.

The RiverHawks wrapped up by shooting a 296 in the middle round and a 297 in the concluding round, ending with an 884 (291-296-297) to match with Washburn and Minnesota-Crookston on the final 18-team leaderboard. 

Brett Wilcoxen paced all NSU individuals by tying for 20th, shooting a 219 (70-74-75) across the event, marking his second-highest finish on the campaign. Will Livermore finished in a tie for 34th with a 222 (76-75-71), recording the lowest score across the second and third rounds on the team.

Juan Vergel and Parker Rose matched with a 224, while Parker Rose scored his lowest round of the tournament with a 72 in the second before ending the event with a 229 (75-72-82). 

NSU participates next in the Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz. from Apr. 7-8.
