Men’s Golf in seventh at MIAA Championships

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Northeastern State shot a 592 (296-296), logging identical scores in both rounds of action to rank seventh on day one at the MIAA Men's Golf Championships at Jefferson City Country Club.

As a team, the RiverHawks logged 16 birdies and led the field with 123 pars. They sit three strokes back of sixth-place Missouri Southern (589), while Central Oklahoma (573) enters the final round with the lead among the 11-team field.

Parker Rose highlights NSU's individual efforts with a 145 (72-73) across both rounds to tie for 14th. Brett Wilcoxen is a stroke back from Rose with a 146 (73-73). Bliss Newton landed a 150 (76-74), while Will Livermore shot a 153 (77-76), in addition to Juan Vergel (75-78).

The third and final round begins Wednesday.
