RiverHawks earn No. 6 seed in the MIAA Women's Tennis Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With regular season matches finalized over the weekend, the stage is set for the 2025 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship. The league's top six teams will travel to Springfield, Mo., for the three-day single-elimination postseason tournament, hosted at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
 
Opening matches of the 2025 MIAA postseason women's tennis championship are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2 with semifinal matches set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. The battle for the MIAA tournament title will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.
 
Three teams tied for the 2025 MIAA women's tennis regular season championship crown. Nebraska Kearney, Northwest Missouri and Washburn each posted league records of 8-1. Based on the Association's tennis tiebreaker protocol, the Lopers were awarded the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament while the Ichabods claimed the No. 2 seed and the Bearcats will be the No. 3 seed.
 
Central Oklahoma tabbed the No. 4 seed with an MIAA record of 6-3. Emporia State will be the No. 5 seed after going 5-4 against conference opponents and Northeastern State clinched the final seed in the tournament with an MIAA record of 4-5.

OPENING ROUND – FRIDAY, MAY 2
2 PM | No. 3 seed Northwest Missouri vs. No. 6 seed Northeastern State
2 PM | No. 4 seed Central Oklahoma vs. No. 5 seed Emporia State
 
SEMIFINALS – SATURDAY, MAY 3
10 AM | No. 1 seed Nebraska Kearney vs. Central Oklahoma/Emporia
10 AM | No. 2 seed Washburn vs. Northwest Missouri/Northeastern State
