TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State women's tennis team will make its 12th consecutive postseason appearance Friday, facing Northwest Missouri State in the MIAA Tournament Play-In Round.
The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Missouri. The RiverHawks are the No. 6 seed, finishing the MIAA regular season with a 4-5 record. Northwest Missouri State is the No. 3 seed after going 8-1 and claiming a share of the conference regular-season title.
Northeastern State has faced the Bearcats three times in the MIAA postseason, winning all three matchups, including the last two tournaments.
Earlier this season, NSU fell 5-2 at home against the Bearcats but holds a 21-5 advantage in the all-time series.
The winner of Friday's match will advance to Saturday's semifinal to face No. 2 seed Washburn at 10 a.m.
