GOODYEAR, Ariz. --
Parker Rose landed a top ten finish, but Northeastern State fell four spots as a unit on day two at the Palm Valley Classic to end the event in 11th place after three rounds.
Three of NSU's five participants logged tournament-high rounds on Tuesday, with the RiverHawks shooting a 296 in round three to drop out of the tournament's top ten. Northeastern closed off their final tournament before the MIAA Championships with a score of 862 (281-285-296) to finish three strokes back from a top ten placing.
Rose shot a 70 in the final round to wrap up the event with a 208 (70-68-70), tying for sixth on the individual leaderboard. He finished the tournament with the team lead in birdies (14) and added 34 pars, tied for second-most across the roster.
Brett Wilcoxen landed a 76 to finish with a 218 (69-73-76).
Bliss Newton shot an 81 to finish two strokes back from Wilcoxen at a 220 (68-71-81), while
Will Livermore landed a 75 to finish with a 223 (74-74-75).
Juan Vergel rounded out the roster with a 227 (79-73-75) across the two-day event, respectively.
The RiverHawks return to the course for the MIAA Championships in Jefferson City, Mo. from Apr. 21-23.
