TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University announced Thursday that head softball coach Rachel Rhode has submitted her resignation.
The university said the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
"We are grateful to Coach Rhode and want to thank her for the time, effort, and dedication over the past two seasons," NSU Director of Athletics
John Sisemore said. "She stepped up to lead our softball program at an unideal time in the fall of 2023. As I got to know Coach Rhode more, she proved to be a great human being who did a lot behind the scenes to help not only the softball program but the entire department. We wish her nothing but the best in her next endeavor."
Rhode led the RiverHawks to a five-win improvement in 2025 and coached four All-MIAA selections.
