Women's Basketball Announces 2025 Transfer Class

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State University head women's basketball coach Keith Ferguson announced Wednesday its 2025 transfer class.

The RiverHawks will be adding two in-state transfers, with one from Texas and another hailing from Australia. 

Jazmin Adams - Oklahoma City, Okla. / Putnam City West HS
(transfer from Oklahoma City University)

Previous - Spent the two seasons at Oklahoma City University (NAIA) ... did not play during the 2024-25 season ... appeared in 19 games and started in four as a true freshman ... averaged 9.4 ppg and 8.1 rpg. 

High School - Ranked 42nd overall in OK, and Ranked Seventh in Forwards in OK, helped lead her team to a regional championship title (2022) ... received MVP and competed in the City Skinz League HS All-state Game (2021) ... averaged 12 ppg, 12 rpg, 6 apg, 2 bpg (2022).

Jaz brings a great combination of size and the ability to rebound the basketball. She averaged almost a double-double as a freshman and can finish well around the rim.

Kayley Alt - Pryor, Okla / Pryor HS  
(transfer from East Central University)

Previous - Played two seasons at East Central (Ada, Okla.) ... named to the Great American Conference Honor Roll ... played in 24 games and made one start during the 2024-25 for the Tigers ... had a season-best 12 points in 24 minutes of playing time against Northwestern Oklahoma ... averaged 13 mpg and landed 21 three-pointers ... as a true-freshman she started in five games and appeared in 24 ... scored over ten points in three contests and had 16 points against Southern Arkansas ... shot 38.6-percent from the arc.

High School - OCA All-State selection ... two-time offensive Player of the Year ... scored over 1,000 points at Pryor High School ... selected as All-Conference three times.

Kayley is a great local player who can shoot the basketball! Her ability to stretch the floor helps give us more perimeter shooting depth that we need.

Makala Bingley - Launceston, Tasmania, Australia / Kings Meadows
(transfer from Texas-Permian Basin)

Previous - Comes to NSU with three-year of experience at Texas-Permian Basin (NCAA DII) after playing in 86 games, while making 59 starts for the Falcons ... started every game during the 2024-25 season and averaged 7.0 ppg and 29.5 mpg ... had a pair of 20 point games and hit double-digit scoring in ten contests ... had a pair of career-best 21 point contests as a sophomore against Sul Ross State and St. Mary's (Texas) ... landed 109 three-pointers at UTPB and was a 84.9-percent shooter from the free-throw-line ... named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and played in the LSC Tournament twice.

Makala has produced for three years in the Lone Star and is a proven player. She can score inside and out with the ability to play multiple positions.

McKenzie Smith - Amarillo, Texas / Amarillo HS
(transfer from Kansas)

Previous - Did not play the 2024-25 season ... appeared in six games as a reserve during her freshman season ... averaged 1.3 points per game and collected a career–high of five points against Houston Christian (Dec. 6) … played a career-high 11 minutes against Northwestern State (Nov. 8) ... Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team (2023-24).

High School - Amarillo Globe-News Player of the Year and Press Pass Sports Girls Basketball Player of the Year as a senior in 2022-23…Two-time Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-State Selection…Two-time District 3-5A MVP…Chosen as a TABC Large School All-Star in 2023…TABC Academic All-State selection…Recognized as the Panhandle Hall of Fame women's basketball athlete of the year…Averaged 16.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game as a senior…Shot 57.3% from the field for an Amarillo HS team that finished 32-5 with a District 3-5A championship…Led Amarillo to a 32-6 record and state semifinal appearance as a junior…Ranked as the No. 53 girls basketball prospect in Texas according to Premier Basketball Report…Finished with 1,519 career points…Coached by Jeff Williams at Amarillo HS.

Mac has the ability to score it at all three levels. Her ability to create shots for herself and her teammates is something we really needed to add in recruiting this year. She has been at KU playing for some of the best in the Big 12, and we can't wait to see what she can do here.
