KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State Women's Soccer has been picked to finish fifth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) preseason poll, released Friday morning by conference officials.
The RiverHawks earned 92 points in the voting. Central Missouri topped the poll with 132 points and four first-place votes, edging Central Oklahoma, which also claimed four first-place nods and 126 points. Missouri Western took third with 124 points, while Washburn secured five first-place votes and ranked fourth with 123 points.
Northwest Missouri came in sixth with 89 points, followed by Pittsburg State in seventh (71 points) and Nebraska-Kearney in eighth (69 points). Fort Hays State (63 points) was ninth, with Emporia State rounding out the top 10 at 53 points.
Rogers State landed in 11th with 37 points, ahead of Missouri Southern (19 points) and Newman (16 points) in 12th and 13th, respectively.
Northeastern State opens its season on August 23 with a friendly at Southern Nazarene.
