WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Nathan Biais cracked the top ten among individuals after one day and two rounds of action at The Mule on Monday.

Biais shot one-under par across the day for a score of 139 (67-72) at Mules National Golf Club, landing seven birdies, as well. Biais is tied for tenth and sits one stroke back of a four-way tie for sixth. He is five strokes back of the lead with one round remaining.

As a team, Northeastern State's seventh-place ranking was the result of shooting 578 (285-293) on the day. They sit just two strokes back of a tie for fourth between Dallas Baptist and Missouri S&T (575). Central Oklahoma (544) holds an eleven-stroke lead over second-place Central Missouri (555).

"We went from third to 13th at one point, then rallied with a strong finish to climb back to seventh," head golf coach Scott Varner said. "Scoring is tight aside from the top two. With a good day tomorrow, we could realistically finish as high as third."

Will Livermore finished second among NSU's individual performers and is tied for 26th overall after shooting a 144 (73-71). Livermore was one of seven players to log an eagle during the day, connecting on the eighth hole in the opening round.

Juan Vergel shot a 145 (70-75) and tied for seventh in birdies across the field on the opening day with seven. Ian Wilcoxen shot a 150 (75-75), while Mateo Castro landed a 158 (81-77), respectively.

The event concludes with the third and final round tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m.
