Glenn’s Career-High Lifts NSU Past Rogers State, 96-87

CLAREMORE -- Xavier Glenn poured in a career-high 32 points and Northeastern State rolled past Rogers State 96-87 on Saturday afternoon at the Claremore Expo Center.

The RiverHawks (9-6, 2-4 MIAA) snapped a five-game losing streak to the Hillcats and set a program record for points scored at Rogers State's home arena. Glenn added 13 rebounds, notching his sixth consecutive game with at least 20 points.

Northeastern State shot 62.7% from the field, including 68% in the second half, and outscored Rogers State 54-48 after the break. The RiverHawks also outscored the Hillcats 52-38 in the paint and posted a 45-28 rebounding advantage.

Glenn was 11-of-14 from the floor and 2-of-2 from 3-point range, and finished a perfect 8-of-8 at the free-throw line. AJ Reed Jr. added 16 points and five assists, while Dylan Tea came off the bench to score 14. Harry Neilson chipped in 12 points in 15 minutes of action.

Northeastern State trailed 43-42 early in the second half before Glenn and company took control. A 20-8 run midway through the half pushed the lead to double digits, and the RiverHawks never looked back.

Caden Fry led Rogers State (9-6, 3-3 MIAA) with 27 points, while Benard Omooria scored 24. The Hillcats struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 7-of-28.

Northeastern State returns to action Friday with a road contest at Arkansas-Fort Smith. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
