BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Northeastern State women's tennis team opened its spring slate with a competitive exhibition match Tuesday night, falling 4-0 to Division I opponent Wyoming at the indoor courts of Indian Springs Country Club in Broken Arrow.
The RiverHawks held their own in doubles, with the duos of

Renata Morales and
Lucia Bontempo/
Sofia Kotliarova battling to 6-3 scorelines before the Cowgirls secured the doubles point. At No. 3,
Ayla Guentekin and
Laura Mertens put up a strong effort in a 6-1 result.
In singles action, NSU gained valuable reps in the top three spots before Wyoming clinched the match. The RiverHawks showed flashes of their potential and welcomed the challenge of facing a seasoned D-I squad.
The RiverHawks will continue exhibition play on Feb. 4, traveling to Missouri State for another early-season tune-up as they prepare for regular-season action.
