TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State men's tennis will be represented at the inaugural Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II Singles & Doubles National Championships as the doubles team of
Alexander Edley and
Mansur Khajimuradov earned a spot in the national field.
The championships are scheduled for Nov. 4-8 at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The event marks the first year the ITA has hosted a standalone Division II individual national championship, giving student-athletes a chance to compete for national titles in singles and doubles.Â
Edley and Khajimuradov have been a key doubles pairing for the RiverHawks. The duo earned honorable mention All-MIAA/GAC recognition in 2026 after posting a 9-7 overall record, including two victories over nationally ranked opponents.
Northeastern State's qualification comes after competition at the ITA Central Regional in Edmond, Oklahoma. Edley advanced to the quarterfinals in the men's A singles draw, winning three consecutive matches. Khajimuradov also competed in singles, earning two victories during the regional tournament.Â
The ITA Division II Singles & Doubles National Championships will feature regional champions, finalists and at-large selections from across the country. All competitors are guaranteed at least three matches during the tournament.
The RiverHawks will look to make their mark on the national stage as they compete against some of Division II's top doubles teams in Tuscaloosa.
