HASTINGS, Kan. -- Northeastern State women's wrestling made history Sunday, competing in the first event in program history and earning a 29-15 dual victory over Hastings.

The RiverHawks recorded seven individual victories, including four technical falls and two pins, to secure the program's first team win.

Abigail Butts opened the scoring for Northeastern State with a 10-0 technical fall at 117 pounds. Zoey Freeman followed with a 9-4 decision at 124 pounds, and Samara Markwardt added another 10-0 technical fall at 131 pounds.

Janaye Wise earned a fall at 145 pounds in just 23 seconds. Aliana Barnoski recorded a 10-0 technical fall at 160 pounds, while Ambre Chevreau posted an 11-0 technical fall at 180 pounds. Catherine Dutton closed out the RiverHawks' scoring with a fall at 207 pounds in 1:04.

Northeastern State will return to action Wednesday, hosting Murray State and Southeast Community College.
