TAHLEQUAH — The Northeastern State tennis squads are heading south of the Red River this weekend for a triple-header showdown against Lone Star Conference foes.

The RiverHawks take on UT Dallas and Texas Permian Basin on Friday, then close out the road trip with a Saturday match against Western New Mexico.

On the women's side, freshman Laura Mertens is off to a hot start, nabbing both of her wins at No. 4 singles. In doubles action, the dynamic duo of Daisy Barrow and Renata Morales have dominated the No. 1 slot with convincing victories.

For the men, Alexander Edley and Mansur Khajimuradov picked up an impressive win in top-flight doubles, as the team continues hunting for a momentum-shifting singles victory.
