WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Northeastern State opened strong with a 15-5 run, but Central Missouri responded with a long-range assault, dealing the RiverHawks a 92-65 loss on Thursday evening.
The game was tied 32-32 late in the first half before the Mules went on a 14-0 run spanning both halves. Central Missouri hit 14 three-pointers—the most allowed by NSU in more than two seasons—and shot 54.8 percent from the field in the contest.
Nehemiah Weber paced the RiverHawks with 18 points and five assists, while
Xavier Glenn added 16 points and a team-best seven rebounds.
Taven Washington reached double figures with 10 points.
Despite shooting 44 percent and nearly matching UCM on the boards (31-32), NSU (12-11, 5-9 MIAA) was hampered by 18 turnovers and UCM's 48.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
Central Missouri (19-7, 10-4 MIAA) outscored the RiverHawks 60-33 following the early NSU run and led by as many as 30 in the second half.
Northeastern State will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, when it travels to Washburn for a 3 p.m. MIAA tip-off in Topeka, Kansas.
