Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas -- Northeastern State closed Friday's action with their second win of the day, earning a 4-2 win over Texas Permian Basin.
After the RiverHawks (2-2) emerged on the victorious end of two 6-4 decisions in doubles play, they furthered their success from the top of the lineup in singles competition.
James Edley provided a No. 1 singles win in a two-setter, while
Mansur Khajimuradov was able to do the same from the No. 3 slot.Â
Alexander Edley would bounce back from a loss in the opening set of his matchup in No. 2 singles by notching a 6-0 sweep in the middle frame and a 6-2 result to cap off a forceful response.
"The match against Permain Basin was a real fun, knock-down, drag-out college match," head tennis coach
Tim McLane said.
"That was easily the best our doubles has looked this year. Then, our older guys at the top really stepped up and gutted out some tight matches to clinch it."
The RiverHawks conclude this week's schedule in Dallas with a test against Western New Mexico at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
