TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State opens its MIAA schedule this Friday at
Thomas C. Rousey Field with a three-game series againstCentral Missouri.
Klete Finley led NSU (4-5) at the plate last week, hitting .529 (9-for-17) across five games with 11 runs scored and nine RBI. In game two against Truman State on Friday, the junior went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI — the most by a RiverHawk in over a season.
On the mound,
Thomas Brownfield delivered six scoreless innings in a no-decision against Truman State, striking out five and keeping the opposition in check.
Central Missouri (8-2) enters the weekend ranked fifth and sixth nationally. The Mules are hitting .339 as a team and are paced by infielder Cole Funkhouser, who is batting .529 with 11 runs scored.
In the all-time series, NSU trails 40-15 but claimed the final game of the teams' last meeting in Warrensburg.
First pitch Friday is set for 2 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday's games scheduled for 1 p.m.
