RiverHawks Head to Bolivar for Saturday Doubleheader Against Southwest Baptist

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State Softball continues non-conference play this weekend with a Saturday doubleheader against former MIAA foe Southwest Baptist. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

The RiverHawks head to Bolivar, Missouri, with a 7-6 record. Despite a 1-4 showing at the Cherokee Nation Festival, NSU averaged nearly six runs per game in those contests. Through 13 games, the RiverHawks have swiped 32 bases — just 15 shy of their entire season total from a year ago.

Korynn Tindel has paced NSU's offense across nearly every category this season. She's batting .465 with a 1.366 OPS and 36 total bases. Tindel also leads the team with a .837 slugging percentage and 17 RBI, including three last weekend in Tahlequah.

Southwest Baptist enters the matchup riding a seven-game losing streak. Keeley Elsea leads the Bearcats offensively, posting a 1.016 OPS and 11 hits.

Overall, NSU holds a 15-11 advantage in the all-time series and has won two of the last three meetings.
