TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State heads on the road for the first time in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play this weekend for a three-game baseball series at Missouri Southern.
The RiverHawks (4-9, 0-3 MIAA) will play their first true road games of the season after previously competing at neutral sites against Southeastern Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma.
Klete Finley has reached base in all 11 games he has played, leading the team with 21 runs scored while batting .463.
Xavier Sanchez has recorded a base hit in each of the last four games and went 6-for-10 against Central Missouri.
Missouri Southern (5-7, 1-2 MIAA) dropped a three-game series at Rogers State last weekend and is 2-2 at home in Joplin. Both the Lions and RiverHawks have played neutral-site games in Seminole this season, though against different opponents.
The Lions are batting .277 as a team entering the weekend series and carry a 4.82 ERA.
Northeastern State has hosted the last six games in the series and won the two most recent meetings. Missouri Southern leads the all-time series 44-33-1.
First pitch Friday is scheduled for 2 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday games set for 1 p.m.
