TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks will hit the courts for the third time this week and will face CSU-Pueblo in a first-ever meeting between the two programs in Edmond on Friday morning.
Northeastern State's (4-2) encounter with the ThunderWolves is a late addition to the schedule, with the RiverHawks as an opponent replacement for another school that canceled, and it has been 25 years since NSU has played a team out of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
NSU will head into Friday's meeting on a four-match winning streak, its longest since the end of the 2023 season, when it reached the MIAA Tournament Final.
Sofia Kotliarova has won her last three matches since moving to No. 2 singles, and freshman
Laura Mertens is 5-1 at No. 4 singles and has won her last three doubles matches.
CSU-Pueblo (0-5) will be searching for its first win of the season and has been swept in four of its five matches. Since earning a win midway through the 2019 season, the ThunderWolves have gone 2-79 on the courts, with a four-year winless streak in between.
First serve in Edmond is expected to start at 11 a.m.
