TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --
Harry Neilson saved his best for last.
Neilson recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead Northeastern State to an 82-75 victory over Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon at the NSU Event Center.
The win marked the RiverHawks' second straight home victory over the Bronchos and provided a strong finish in the regular-season finale.
Northeastern State (13-15, 6-13 MIAA) shot a sizzling 55.4% from the field and never trailed in the second half. The RiverHawks built an 11-point lead midway through the final period and controlled the tempo with 42 points in the paint and 13 fast-break points.
Neilson dominated inside, going 8-of-11 from the floor and adding two blocks.
Taven Washington poured in 19 points, including three second-half 3-pointers, while
Xavier Glenn added 13 points and five rebounds.
Nehemiah Weber chipped in 10 points as NSU placed four players in double figures.
Central Oklahoma (15-15, 8-10) was led by Josh Nwankwo's 25 points. Matthew Willenborg added 15 points for the Bronchos, who shot 44.4% overall and just 23.5% from beyond the arc.
NSU led 36-28 at halftime and held off a late UCO push in the final minutes. The RiverHawks went 12-of-17 at the free-throw line and owned a 37-31 rebounding advantage.
