Jackson Dillingham homered for the second straight day, but offensive fireworks were otherwise hard to come by in the Sunday series finale against Upper Iowa for Northeastern State in a 10-4 loss at Rousey Field.
The RiverHawks (2-2) were held to five base hits, two occurring in the ninth inning. The Peacocks (1-2) found significant swings in their favor in the fourth and seventh innings, where they plated three and four runs, respectively.
Jackson Dillingham's homer to right field in the fourth inning was accompanied by a single and two walks to tally four on-base appearances.
Gannon White provided a multi-hit showing, while
Klete Finley added a double in the bottom of the ninth.
Brazen Bockius struck out four batters, but walked three and hit three across 3.2 innings in his first start of the season. Bockius would receive the loss, while
Jack Haag led all NSU relievers in strikeouts for the afternoon with three.
Northeastern State returns to the field with a Tuesday clash in Ponca City, Okla. against Northwestern Oklahoma at 2 p.m.
