Tindel's Five-RBI Outburst Fuels RiverHawks' Comeback Win Over Hillsdale

TYLER, Texas – Northeastern State used a late offensive surge and a monster day from Korynn Tindel to storm back for a 9-7 win over Hillsdale on Saturday morning at Irwin Field. The win moves the RiverHawks to 6-1 on the season and caps off a resilient performance after trailing 5-1 through three innings.

Tindel delivered a standout showing at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and five RBI — accounting for more than half of NSU's scoring output. The junior's two-run triple in the fifth made it a 7-5 ballgame, and she followed with a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth that proved to be the game-winner.

Madison Nance added a solo home run and finished with two RBI, while Peyton Watson chipped in a pair of doubles and an RBI. Mia Sarwinski also scored twice on a 2-for-4 day from the leadoff spot.

On the mound, Brooke Wyatt battled through five innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on nine hits, but Jensyn Elder slammed the door with two perfect frames of relief to earn the win — his fourth of the year (4-0).

Northeastern State outhit Hillsdale 13-9 and stole the momentum late, scoring six unanswered runs across the final two innings. The RiverHawks also overcame three defensive miscues.
