TAHLEQUAH -- A strong start propelled Missouri S&T to a 7-2 win in the late game at RiverHawks Park Saturday.
The Miners (11-8) opened with a two-RBI home run in the first inning, countered by an RBI triple from
Korynn Tindel for Northeastern State (11-8). The Miners would power back with three more plated runs in the third, with NSU finding no other answer for the rest of the evening outside of Tindel's RBI double in the fifth.
The NSU infielder would land a home run shy of the cycle and was responsible for three of the team's five base hits. Aubree Saporito pitched the entire way for the RiverHawks, striking out three and walking eight alongside five allowed hits.
Northeastern State returns to RiverHawks Park for a midweek battle against Southern Nazarene Tuesday (3/5 p.m.).
