Dillingham homers in NSU setback

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State dropped its series opener to Missouri Western State, falling 14-2 in an eight-inning MIAA contest Friday at Rousey Field.

The RiverHawks (8-18, 3-11 MIAA) collected eight hits but were unable to keep pace with a Missouri Western lineup that scored in six of eight innings. NSU broke through in the second inning when Jackson Dillingham drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, trimming an early deficit.

Dillingham delivered again in the fourth, launching a solo home run to left field for his fifth of the season and second in as many games. He finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, accounting for both Northeastern State runs.

Chance Pair added a pair of hits, while Klete Finley, Jaxon Gregory, and Alex Nirider each recorded one hit.

On the mound, Bryce Parlin (1-4) took the loss, allowing six runs — three earned — over three innings. Jackson Hill, Parker Allen, and Trout He combined in relief.

Missouri Western tallied 18 hits in the game, led by a four-hit performance from Micah Kobuszewski.

The RiverHawks will look to bounce back as the series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. in Tahlequah.
