NSU Eyes Series Win in Rematch With UAFS

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State will meet Arkansas-Fort Smith for the second time this season, seeking an MIAA series win over the Lions on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Rousey Field.

The RiverHawks (11-21, 6-14 MIAA) defeated UAFS 13-3 on March 17. Jackson Dillingham led NSU with four RBIs on two hits in the first meeting. He was one of four players to drive in multiple runs and one of five RiverHawks to record multiple hits.

Xavier Sanchez carries a 14-game on-base streak and has recorded a hit in each of the past six games. In last week's series at Washburn, the senior went 7 for 15 at the plate. Jaxon Gregory enters the game with an eight-game hitting streak and leads the team with 46 hits.

Fort Smith (4-25, 3-17 MIAA) enters on an eight-game losing streak dating to a series sweep at Newman two weeks ago. The Lions are allowing more than 13 runs per game and have issued nearly one walk per inning.

Following Tuesday's game, the RiverHawks will have a rare in-season weekend off before returning to action April 7 at Central Oklahoma.
