PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Northeastern State wrapped up two rounds at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational on Monday, sitting 10th in the team standings with a 36-hole total of 626 at Crestwood Country Club.
The RiverHawks improved in the second round, shaving four strokes off their opening score with a 311 after posting a 315 in round one.
Ian Wilcoxen paced Northeastern State, carding a two-round total of 151 (+7) to sit tied for 11th individually. Wilcoxen was particularly effective on the par-5s, posting the lowest scoring average in the field at 4.38 while leading the team with six birdies through 36 holes.
Nathan Biais followed at 154 (+10), placing tied for 24th, while
Mateo Castro finished the day at 159 (+15).
Will Livermore (163, +19) and
Juan Vergel (168, +24) rounded out the RiverHawks' lineup.
Central Oklahoma holds the team lead at 597, with Washburn and Central Missouri close behind entering the final round.
The tournament concludes Tuesday morning.
