PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Northeastern State wrapped its slate of tournaments in March, tying for 13th at the Pittsburg State Invitational.
The RiverHawks battled the Tuesday winds and carded a 319 in the third and final round, finishing the event with a 945 (315-311-319). The tally tied with Bemidji State and Minnesota-Crookston and dropped NSU out of the top ten in the process.
Among individuals,
Nathan Biais led NSU by tying for 11th with a 227 (76-78-73), just missing the top ten by a stroke.
Ian Wilcoxen struggled in the final round at the windy course with an 83, finishing with a 234 (77-74-83).
Juan Vergel's most successful round was Tuesday's finale, finishing with a 77 to complete a three-round score of 245 (82-86-77), matching teammate
Mateo Castro (80-79-86).
Will Livermore scored a 251 (83-80-88).
The RiverHawks play in their final tournament before the MIAAs in mid-April, with a trip to Goodyear, Ariz., participating in the Palm Valley Golf Classic next week on Monday and Tuesday.
