TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State heads to Fort Smith for the second time this season, looking to complete a series sweep of the Lions on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
The RiverHawks (13-24, 8-17 MIAA) enter the matchup riding momentum, aiming for their sixth consecutive midweek win. They are 6-3 in Tuesday contests this season.
Klete Finley comes into the week on a five-game hitting streak, highlighted by a two-home run performance against Pittsburg State last Saturday.
Northeastern State has already claimed the first two meetings of the series, winning 13-3 on March 17 in Fort Smith and 15-5 on March 31 in Tahlequah. The RiverHawks are 4-7 overall in Fort Smith and will be seeking their first MIAA series sweep with a win.
The Lions (4-33, 3-25 MIAA) are looking to bounce back after being outscored 49-9 across four games last week. Fort Smith has struggled defensively this season, allowing more than 13 runs per game. CJ Snowden provided a bright spot, recording a hit in all four games last week. He is batting .305 on the season and has added 14 stolen bases.
