TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State emerged victorious in walk-off fashion after a double from
Halle Hance concluded a 5-4 win over No. 17 Oklahoma Baptist, completing the program's first sweep of OBU in Tahlequah since 1997.
The RiverHawks (26-17) fought in a back-and-forth battle with the Bison (34-10), collecting a score each in both innings. NSU would break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth after
Morgan Coryell made it home off an error from the OBU defense.Â
After the Bison regained the lead on a two-RBI single in the sixth inning,
Gracie Turner tossed a scoreless seventh from the circle. With the window open to win in the bottom of the seventh,
Peyton Watson's single was followed by an RBI double from
Annsleigh Morris to tie and another RBI double from
Halle Hance to clinch the victory.
Turner's win in the circle is her fourth of the season, while the offense was lifted by multi-hit performances from Watson, Morris and Hance.
