JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Northeastern State wrapped up the MIAA Men's Golf Championship with an eighth-place finish, posting a three-round total of 909 at the par-72 Jefferson City Country Club.
The RiverHawks held steady in the final round, matching their second-round score with a 299.
Juan Vergel paced NSU with a 224 (76-75-73), earning a tie for 19th place.
Nathan Biais followed closely, finishing three strokes back at 227 (74-78-75) to tie for 29th.
Ian Wilcoxen and
Mateo Castro each carded a 229 to tie for 36th, while
Cole Waymire placed 52nd with a 252.
Vergel stood out with 37 pars, tying for fourth-most in the field, while Castro led the RiverHawks with nine birdies.
Central Oklahoma captured the 2026 MIAA title by a dominant 21-stroke margin over Central Missouri. The Bronchos fired a 10-under final round to finish at 853 overall. Baylor Bostick led the way, claiming individual medalist honors with a 209.
Northeastern State now awaits its postseason fate, with NCAA Super Regional selections set for April 26. The regional will be held in Big Rapids, Michigan.
