NSU Visits Bearcats for Weekend Series

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State travels to No. 30 Northwest Missouri State for a three-game MIAA series beginning Saturday in Maryville, Missouri.

Weather has already impacted the schedule, with expected rain Friday pushing the series back one day. If heavy rainfall persists, the series could instead begin Sunday with a doubleheader.

Due to the adjusted travel schedule, the RiverHawks' game against Central Oklahoma at Rousey Field on Tuesday has been moved to a 5 p.m. start. The game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m.

Northeastern State (13-25, 8-18 MIAA) enters on a four-game losing streak after a 21-9 loss at Fort Smith on Tuesday. Klete Finley carries a six-game hitting streak into the weekend, recording four multi-hit games during that span. Jaxon Gregory has started all 38 games this season and leads the team with 54 hits.

Northwest Missouri State (27-13, 17-9 MIAA) has dropped its last three games, including a series loss to Rogers State and a midweek defeat at Central Missouri. The Bearcats have hit 54 home runs this season, four shy of the program record.

Northeastern State leads the all-time series 26-22 but is 6-9 in games played in Maryville.

First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday.
