MARYVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Northeastern State was held to one hit in a 14-0 loss to No. 30 Northwest Missouri on Saturday in MIAA action.
Chance Pair accounted for the RiverHawks' lone hit with a double in the third inning, while Northeastern State struck out eight times at the plate.
Northwest Missouri State set the tone early, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding at least one run in every frame. The Bearcats finished with 10 extra-base hits, including three home runs.
Bryce Parlin (2-5) took the loss after allowing multiple runs over 4 1/3 innings.
Northeastern State (13-26, 8-19 MIAA) will return to action Sunday for the second game of the series, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
