TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State delivered a dominant performance Saturday at Newman, sweeping all nine matches in a 7-0 victory in men's tennis action.
The RiverHawks set the tone early by claiming the doubles point with wins across all three courts. The No. 1 pairing of Alexander Edley and Mansur Khajimuradov rolled to a 6-2 win, while Luis Denda and James Edley secured a 6-3 victory at No. 2. Tomas Aramburu and Ko Osuga completed the sweep with a 6-2 result at No. 3.
Northeastern State carried that momentum into singles play, winning every match in straight sets.
James Edley controlled the top court with a 6-2, 6-3 win, while Alexander Edley followed with a dominant performance at No. 2 before his opponent retired in the second set.
Khajimuradov added a hard-fought 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 3, and Aramburu cruised at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Baptiste Linet posted a double-bagel (6-0, 6-0) at No. 5, and Denda closed out the sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6.
The RiverHawks move to 6-8 overall and will move on to host Rockhurst this Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
