Men's Tennis Swept by Northwest Missouri

Box Score ST. JOSEPH, Mo.  -- Northeastern State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Northwest Missouri State on Thursday, falling behind early and unable to recover.

The Bearcats (8-7) secured the doubles point by taking the top two courts. At No. 1, Alexander Edley and Mansur Khajimuradov were defeated 6-3, while Luis Denda and James Edley fell 6-2 at No. 2. 

In singles, Northwest Missouri State continued its momentum, winning three straight matches to clinch the team victory. Alexander Edley was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Mansur Khajimuradov dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 3. Tomas Aramburu fell 7-6, 6-2 at No. 4 in the clinching match.

Play was halted at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles after the match was decided.

Northeastern State (5-7) will look to bounce back in its next outing on April 12, where they will host Nebraska-Kearney at 1 p.m.
