WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Northeastern State's
Jessica Parker remained the clubhouse leader for a second consecutive day at the MIAA Women's Golf Championship, holding a one-stroke lead Tuesday.
Parker, a junior, shot a 3-over 73 for the second straight round at the par-70 Mules National Golf Club. She was even through nine holes before going 4 over from holes No. 2 through No. 7, then recovered with a birdie on No. 8 to maintain her lead over Rogers State's Milena Andres.
If Parker captures the MIAA title Wednesday, she would become the third golfer in program history to do so, joining Baylee Price, who won in 2014 and 2016. Â
Sam Maceli won the event just last season.
Parker led the way for the RiverHawks, who fell to 11th place after posting a team score of 331 for a two-round total of 655.
Northeastern State competed without a drop score for the second straight round, with each golfer shooting between 85 and 88. The RiverHawks are 13th in the field with 58 pars through 36 holes.
Washburn moved up five spots in the second round and holds a two-stroke lead over Nebraska-Kearney with a team score of 607.
The final round is scheduled to begin Wednesday morning.
