KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
Daisy Barrow was named Freshman of the Year and earned a First Team selection in singles to highlight Northeastern State's recognitions from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), announced Wednesday ahead of the association's postseason tournament.
Barrow is the program's first Freshman of the Year pick since 2014 and the fifth in its NCAA era. She enters the postseason holding a 15-6 singles record, including a 7-2 mark against league opponents. The freshman also claimed an Honorable Mention nod in doubles alongside
Renata Morales, as the duo holds a 12-7 record with two wins against nationally ranked opponents. The doubles tandem ranked No. 35 in the latest ITA Division II doubles rankings.
Morales also earned an Honorable Mention in singles play, as did
Sofia Kotliarova. Morales produced a 9-6 record individually during the season, including wins in all five singles bouts in the No. 2 spot. Kotliarova receives her second career All-MIAA singles recognition with Wednesday's release after a nine-win regular season.
