GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Northeastern State opened play at the Palm Valley Classic with a 320 on Friday, placing 26th after the first round.
The RiverHawks recorded four birdies and 46 pars but were hampered by three scores over 80, leaving them near the bottom of the leaderboard.
Talya Samir led Northeastern State with a 4-over 76, finishing tied for 51st.
Jessica Parker followed one stroke back and was tied for 68th.
Colorado State-Pueblo held the first-round lead at 291, one stroke ahead of Cal State San Marcos.
Northeastern State will conclude the tournament Saturday with the final round.
