Northeastern State faces Central Missouri in MIAA road twin bill

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State will travel to Central Missouri on Tuesday for a rare midweek MIAA softball doubleheader beginning at noon.

The games were originally scheduled for last weekend but were postponed due to weather. As a result, a non-conference doubleheader at Cameron was canceled.

Northeastern State (20-15, 7-7 MIAA) has dropped its last four games, all against teams ranked in the top 20 nationally. Mia Sarwinski has recorded three consecutive multi-hit games, while Annsleigh Morris leads the team with a .561 slugging percentage.

Central Missouri (24-12, 7-5 MIAA) swept a doubleheader against Rogers State on Saturday in Warrensburg. The Jennies are allowing just over three runs per game and have stolen 74 bases this season.

The RiverHawks trail the all-time series 17-15 and have split the last two doubleheaders. In Warrensburg, NSU is 4-9 all-time.

Following the midweek games, the RiverHawks will return home to host Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney on Friday and Saturday.
