SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Northeastern State fell in the MIAA quarterfinals to Missouri Western in a 4-2 decision on Friday.
The RiverHawks secured the doubles point after earning an initial win in the No. 1 spot and the decider on court two after. Missouri Western took control early in singles play, earning wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots before
Renata Morales logged a singles triumph for the RiverHawks at the top of the lineup on court one.
NSU then dropped No. 4 singles, placing their season in the hands of courts two and three. Both matchups went to three sets, but the Griffons clinched the match from the No. 3 spot to advance in the bracket.
Northeastern State finished the season with a 12-10 record, doubling their win total from the previous season and logging their most home wins (seven) since 2015.
