NSU’s Biais Ends Season With Strong Final Round

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- Northeastern State's Nathan Biais closed the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional with his best round of the tournament Saturday, carding a 75 at Katke Golf Club to climb eight spots on the leaderboard.

The junior finished tied for 82nd overall with a 54-hole total of 232 (79-78-75), placing fifth among the individual qualifiers competing at the regional.

Biais recorded three birdies and nine pars during his final round and finished the tournament with nine birdies overall, tying for 43rd-most in the field.

Despite the late improvement, Biais missed advancing to the NCAA Championships later this month in Boulder City, Nevada. Fort Hays State's Cooper Scheck and Winona State's Peyton Coahran claimed the two individual qualifying spots among players whose teams did not advance.

Biais entered the regional after earning All-MIAA First Team honors and posting a 72.7 scoring average during the season. He also captured medalist honors at the Rattler Invitational in February.
