TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State head golf coach
Scott Varner announced Friday the signing of Braden Prestwood to the program.
"[Braden] is a strong, athletic young man with tons of potential," Varner said.
Prestwood comes to Tahlequah from Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Ala. Bringing winning experience to NSU, Prestwood claimed two tournament wins across his junior college career, in addition to six top-three finishes and five under-par tournament performances.
The Troy, Ala. native finished the 2025-26 season ranked No. 55 nationally among NJCAA Division I men's golfers and No. 30 in the region.
Consistency was a key theme across the previous season, as he recorded top-20 finishes in 10 events. Prestwood closed the season on a strong note with four straight top-six finishes leading into the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship.
"He has already proven what he can do at a high level," Varner said. "He is not afraid to go deep and is battle hardened. I am excited he is joining our NSU RiverHawk Golf family. I expect him to make an immediate and huge impact on our team!"
