Women's Basketball Announces 2026 Signing Class

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University head women's basketball coach Keith Ferguson announced the program's incoming class of freshmen and transfers on Monday, ahead of the 2026-27 season.

"We are very excited about this group of incoming student-athletes," Ferguson said. "Our class adds a lot of size and length to our program that we haven't had since we have been here at NSU. Our freshmen come from highly successful high school programs that have all played in big-time games. Our transfers all bring a different element that I feel like will help our program build and continue with our program's upward trend. The future of RiverHawks basketball continues to look up!"

Hannah Bond / 6-0 / Forward / Adair HS / Kansas, Okla.

High School: All-state selection ... four-year starter ... four-time all-conference selection ... all-tournament team honors by The Oklahoman and Tulsa World ... scored 1,257 points and had 831 rebounds in 111 games at Adair High School ... career average was 11.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game

"Hannah is a local talent who is a very skilled passer. She sees the floor very well for a forward and has the ability to stretch the defense. She is a very aggressive rebounder and has a chance to help us in that area right away." - Coach Ferguson

Kate Datel / 5-10 / Guard / Bixby HS / Bixby, Okla.

High School: All-state selection ... Tulsa World 6A State Basketball All-Tournament Team ... First-team selection at the Tournament of Champions ... all-tournament selection at the Bixby Invitational ... played for Rylie Littlejohn, who played at NSU as a true freshman.

"Kate is a winner. She makes plays on both ends of the floor and is an ultimate competitor that cares about nothing but our team winning games. Her ability to guard multiple positions and how she competes will help our program." - Coach Ferguson

E'Niyah Holmes / 6-0 / Guard / Muskogee HS / Ada, Okla.

High School: OGBCA East All-State at Muskogee ... Green Country Athlete of the Week ... ranked as the fourth-best player in Oklahoma ... averaged 14.0 points per game ... previously played at Madill HS, leading the Lady Wildcats to their first-ever appearance in the Oklahoma 4A State Tournament ... Lake Country Conference Newcomer of the Year ... member of Madill's 1,000-point club

"E'Niyah was a late addition for us but we are really thrilled about her decision. She is a big guard who doesn't have a position; she is just a basketball player. She can play anywhere on the court. She can cause a lot of problems on both ends with her length and ability to attack mismatches. Her  ability to score at all three levels and beat you in many different ways will make her a very tough matchup." - Coach Ferguson

Khalia Moore / 6-0 / Forward / Stillwater HS / Stillwater, Okla.

High School: OGBCA All-State selection ...  Class 6A District 3 second-team all-district ... earned first-team all-conference ... averaged 14 points per game and shot 60% from the field

"Khalia is a next-level athlete that we haven't had here at that position. Her upside and potential are incredibly high. Her second bounce and ability to cover the floor on both ends is something we haven't had." - Coach Ferguson

Addison Myers / 6-0 / Guard/Forward / Stony Point HS / Round Rock, Texas

High School: All-district honorable mention ... multisport athlete at Stony Point, also starring in cross country and track and field

"Addie is a kid we have known for a long time. She has great length on the wing and a different level of toughness. I believe her best basketball is yet to come because she can guard multiple positions and can hit open shots." - Coach Ferguson

Emily O'Brien / 6-1 / Forward / Remington HS / Whitewater, Kan.

High School: Finished career at Remington with 1,285 points, 560 rebounds and 279 steals ... led Broncos to 66 wins ... averaged 19 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a senior ... named 2026 Sports in Kansas Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 3.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game ... nine-time state medalist in track and field, capturing a state championship in 100-meter hurdles and owning a school record on 300-meter hurdles

"Emily is a three-sport all-state athlete out of Kansas. I am so excited about her because she had to be a jack of all trades kid in high school and now she can really focus on what we need her to do. She has a very nice shot to the three and is just a fierce competitor." - Coach Ferguson

Laykin Moore / 5-11 / Guard/Forward / Harding University / Mountain Home, Ark.

Previous: Played 17 games as a true freshman at Harding ... averaged 5.6 minutes per game ... scored a season-high five points against Cameron

High School: All-conference and all-state pick ... 5A Girls Student-Athlete of the Year ... All A Honor Roll ... Excellence in Physical Science ... Excellence in Honors English ... Excellence in Biology

"Laykin has a great feel for the game. She has been well-coached her whole life and can shoot the basketball at an incredibly high rate. Most importantly the kid loves to play basketball. Laykin also brings a calm and mature aspect to our team and locker room." - Coach Ferguson

Jaidyn Schomp / 6-3 / Forward / MoWest / Derby, Kan.

Previous: Played on MoWest teams that made the NCAA Tournament ... was on a Griffons squad that reached the 2022 Elite Eight ... missed the 2022-23 season due to injury and was sidelined for most of the 2023-24 season ...  played in 29 and made 18 starts during the 2024-25 season ... averaged 13.5 minutes per game ... had 20 blocks and 91 rebounds ... earned a degree from MoWest in December 2025.

High School: Helped Derby to an 18-5 record and an appearance in the Class 6A quarterfinals ... averaged 5.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game ... shot 38.1% (37-for-97) from the field, 31.4% (16-for-51) from the three-point line and 59.5% (22-for-37) from the free throw line.

"I had the opportunity to coach Jaidyn years before I got to NSU and I can't be more excited to get to coach her again. She is a long, high-level rebounder and defender who can stretch the floor. She has seen a lot in her college career and I believe her experiences in those and in multiple national tournament appearances will translate here." - Coach Ferguson

Laynee Stanley / 6-0 / Forward / North Texas / Teresita, Okla.

Previous: Missed her true freshman season at North Texas due to injury

High School: Was an all-state selection for the Oklahoma Coaches Association and the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association in 2025 ... Led Fort Gibson to the OSSAA Class 4A state semifinals as a senior ... Surpassed 1,000 career points during her senior year ... Averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks as a junior ... Also competed in softball at Fort Gibson HS ... Was a first-team all-district honoree in each of her first three prep seasons

"Laynee is another local product that we were able to get back home. She is incredibly skilled and can score all over the floor. I think her ability to play multiple positions and attack different mismatches can really cause problems." - Coach Ferguson
