RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- Northeastern State men's soccer is tabbed to finish in fifth place in a preseason vote by the Great American Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association men's soccer coaches, league officials announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The RiverHawks received 15 points in the poll and have qualified for the GAC/MIAA postseason in five of the last six seasons.
Fort Hays State edged out Rogers State by receiving four first-place votes to RSU's total of three. Newman and Southern Nazarene were tied for third with 23 points.Â
Ouachita Baptist (13 points) and Harding (six) were slotted behind NSU in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Northeastern State closes out its preseason with a friendly at home with Oklahoma Wesleyan on August 21 at 7 p.m.
