TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State women's soccer closes out its non-conference slate Sunday with its Military Appreciation Game at 1 p.m., hosting Missouri Southern.
The RiverHawks (3-1-1) have been limited offensively, scoring four goals in five matches but have averaged 14.8 shots per game. Defensively, NSU has shut out teams three times, including two consecutive shutouts heading into Sunday's meeting.
Missouri Southern (1-2-1) has been scoreless in its last two matches and has averaged 14.5 shots per game. Like the RiverHawks, the Lions have scored four goals in their first four matches.
Northeastern State holds a 13-0-1 series lead at home and has won the last eight meetings. Sunday's match will be the first meeting between the teams; they will meet again later in the season in MIAA play.
