Northeastern State rallies past Northwest Missouri for third straight win

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Annabella Trotter and Mya lynn Tran scored second-half goals as Northeastern State rallied for a 2-1 victory over Northwest Missouri on Friday, earning its third straight win and its first victory at Northwest since 2019.

The RiverHawks improved to 5-1-1 overall and 1-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play.

Trotter opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, finishing a pass from Jaclyn Barritt to give Northeastern State a 1-0 lead.

Northwest Missouri answered less than two minutes later when Mackenzie Jordan scored in the 53rd minute to tie the match.

Tran put the RiverHawks back in front in the 77th minute, scoring her second goal of the season off an assist from Trotter. Northeastern State held on for the win.

Northwest Missouri finished with 24 shots, including 11 on goal, while the RiverHawks recorded 10 shots, four on target. Juliette Langlet made 10 saves for Northeastern State.

Northeastern State return to action on Sunday in St. Joseph, Missouri, against Missouri Western.
