TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State volleyball heads to Lawton, Oklahoma, for four matches this weekend to play in Cameron University's invitational. The RiverHawks are set to face Newman and Quincy on Friday, then will see Minot State and hosts Cameron on the following day.
Friday's meeting will be the first look for NSU to face an MIAA foe in Newman, with the match being tabbed as a non-conference contest.
Ashlyn Tag paces NSU with 27 kills, and
Poliana Lazarini is second with 23. Attack errors slowed down the RiverHawks' offense with 99 committed in 12 sets played.
Lanie Brown paces the squad with nine blocks, while
Sydney Dunkleberger has 30 digs.
All four matches are first-time meetings for NSU as an NCAA program. Northeastern State may have faced Cameron in the late 1970s when both programs sponsored the sport, but records from that era are incomplete.
This weekend's matches will be viewable on FloSports, a separate subscription service.
