TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State's Avelino Rosa earned GAC/MIAA Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors, league officials announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Rosa played all 90 minutes in both NSU contests last week and scored a goal in each. He scored in the 78th minute to force a 3-3 draw with Southern Nazarene and struck early in Saturday's match at Rogers State to help NSU win 2-1.

He is the second NSU player this fall to earn a weekly accolade, joining Carter Adams, who previously took Offensive Player honors.

The RiverHawks return to action on Wednesday to face Ouachita Baptist.
